We have seen some tight finishes for the Our Town, Our Heroes program, and this round was no different. Each one of our finalists had an amazing story, and all of them are making a difference in their communities every day. Receiving more than 400 of the 785 votes cast, the winner of our seventh round of Our Town, Our Heroes is Mark Biery!
We are proud to recognize Mark and his work with LTS (Live to Support) Chicago, an organization that showcases nonprofits through hosting networking and sporting events. To further recognize and reward Mark for his inspiring work, Driving the Midwest will be awarding him a special “Hero Package” that includes a week-long loan of a brand new 2011 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle; all compliments of General Motors.
We also thank Carrie Gowans for nominating Mark so that his work would put into the spotlight. This round was also specially designed to recognize the hero winner’s nominator. Since Carrie’s nomination pulled out the victory, she will enjoy a new Chevrolet Camaro for the 4th of July weekend!
